Modi is like a ‘brother’, says Abbott

Narendra and I.” Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said this at a joint press conference with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi after summit talks, while stressing how the two countries were expanding their cooperation in various areas.

The personal warmth Abbott shared with Modi was reflected yet again at a reception at the iconic 161-year-old Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) where he said Modi is like a “brother.”

“Narendra and I,” said Abbott on couple of occasions while referring to the determination of the two leaders to work together to help strengthening of relations.

Abbott had urged world leaders to speak from the heart rather than a script at the summit of the Group of 20 industrialised and major emerging economies at Brisbane.

“If we could use first names, that would be good as well because, whatever disagreements we might have, it helps if there can at least be personal warmth amongst us,” he said.

When Modi, the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Australia in 28 years after Rajiv Gandhi in 1986, made his entry at the G20 Summit venue, he gave Abbott a hearty hug.

Before Modi began his address to lawmakers on Tuesday, Abbott said he was determined to correct the situation where no Indian Prime Minister had addressed the Australian parliament.

He said leaders of several countries have addressed the Parliament but no Indian leader has done it.

“I am personally delighted that this has been been corrected,” Abbott said.

The two leaders had several meetings — both formally and informally — during the East Asia Summit and at the G20 Summit.

“My memorable visit to Australia ends today. A new relationship has begun,” Modi said while speaking at the MCG.

Android 5.0 (Lollipop) rollout delayed due to Wi-Fi bug: Report

A couple of days ago, Google said that it has started rolling out the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update, but there has been no news of any devices actually getting the update till now. It seems the delay is due to a Wi-Fi bug in the software build.

According to Android Police, Google has delayed the release of Android 5.0 because of a Wi-Fi bug that drained the battery in Nexus 5 units.

This bug has been acknowledged by Google's Trevor Johns, who has said, "Android Engineering is aware of an issue affecting Nexus 5 users running Android 5.0 which causes significant "Miscellaneous" battery usage while Wi-Fi is enabled. This appears to be caused by an abnormally high number of IRQ wakeup events. We are continuing to investigate this issue."

Google's Issue Tracker website shows that the bug has been fixed now, meaning that the release is close.

Android Police's sources say that Google now plans to release the Android 5.0 build for Nexus devices on November 12.

Earlier, there were rumours that Google has not been able to create a stable version of Android 5.0 update for cellular models like Nexus 4 and 5 smartphones as well as 3G/4G-enabled Nexus 7 and 10 tablets.

Android 5.0, which Google has called its most ambitious release ever, brings a host of new features, such as a total design revamp, better battery life, improved security and support for multiple user profiles on same device.

Motorola has said that Moto E as well as the first- and second-generation Moto G and X smartphones will get Android 5.0. Likewise, Sony will release the update for all Xperia Z series models, among other smartphones. HTC has said that its One and One (M8) smartphones will get Android 5.0 update within 90 days of its release.

Other major manufacturers, such as Samsung and LG, have not revealed their plans to upgrade products to Android 5.0.

WhatsApp can now inform you if your messages have been read or not

What made WhatsApp so popular initially was its double tick feature that informed the sender that the message has reached the recipient’s phone (although he might or might not have read it). Now, WhatsApp has quietly added another nifty feature to its app that can even tell whether the recipient has read your message or not.

The trick is pretty simple. As soon as the recipient reads your message, the double grey check marks next to the message turn blue. It even works in group chats, where the single check mark turns blue when everybody in the group has read the message. Long pressing a message reveals the Message info which details when the message was delivered and when it was read.

The new feature doesn’t require an update and is already available on all platforms. Although, it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that it won’t go well with all users who still wish to keep a little privacy.

Fashion do's and don'ts for curvy women

Are you overweight? Is selecting the right outfit a challenge for you? Here is an expert who can guide you through the right wardrobe.

With the help of style editors of Navabi, a designer fashion brand which offers sizes 14 to 30, one can find out the “Do’s and Don’ts” while dressing up:

Do:

* Soft fabrics such as jersey, cotton, flannel or cashmere

* Figure-hugging shirts and blouses
* Narrow V-necklines
* Low-cut and single-breasted jackets
* Straight-cut, wide trousers
* Pencil skirts with a high waistline
* Shift dresses and dresses with an asymmetric cut

Don’t:

* Shiny fabrics such as satin, as well as thick materials such as velvet

* Double-breasted jackets and coats
* Playful details such as ruffles or flounces in the bust area
* Skinny jeans
* Horizontal Stripes and halter neck tops
* Empire style

Special tip for accessories

* Loosely draped scarves can skilfully conceal a large chest.

*But be careful with accessories like brooches and short necklaces - they can make an ample bosom look even bigger.
